A train journey is a really hectic and stressful until you
reach your destination. My journey from Kanpur to New was no different, as we
could not get a wink of sleep. We left from IIT Kanpur for Kanpur Central station
(CNB) to board our train, the Shram-Shakti
Express which departed at 11:40 PM towards New Delhi. I was already
exhausted and hence took my berth in order to get some sleep till the train
reached Ghaziabad. But who could ever think of getting any proper sleep with
the passengers around you making such unwanted noises in their sleep.The train was to reach New Delhi at
6:30am but it was delayed due to fog in some areas.The train was two hours late
and we reached at 8:30 am. We had to wait for my uncle whose train was supposed
to reach at 4:30 am, but got delayed to 11:30 am due to the same circumstances.
That led us to spend 3 hours in the waiting room. I was getting bored so went
to the book stall and bought a magazine named CSR (Competition Success Review)
and was reading it till my uncle reached the station. After that, at around
1:30 pm we reached the hotel in which we had to stay.We had our lunch then went
for shopping to the famous GIP (Great India Place), one of the most extensive
malls in Asia. After coming from there we rested for a while and then got
dressed for the wedding of my brother’s friend’s sister, Srishti di.
We had lots of fun there we met celebrities like Lal Krishna Advani and Shatrughna Sinha.
After having so much fun we got tired, we came back to the hotel at about
1:00 am and dropped dead on the bed. The next day we went to my uncle’s place
at Greater Noida. We left for Greater Noida at 9:15 am and reached there at
10:45 am. Then we had some breakfast and went to some places in Greater Noida.
At 2:00 pm we had lunch and then slept due to tiredness. In the evening I had a
great time with my uncle and my cousins. Then the most hectic day came when we
had to leave from Greater Noida to Kanpur. We left at 12:45 pm for Delhi by the
one and only Delhi metro towards RajivChowk. After finishing off some work I
searched for a book & finally found it after a lot of effort. It was a book
on Relativity by Albert Einstein. When we reached station we were informed that
our train Sialdah Rajdhani was 2 hours and 20 min. late. So we went to Palika
Bazar near the station for shopping and then when we reached the station, our
train was there waiting for us. It left for Kanpur at 6:40 pm. It was like the
train was crawling and took almost 7 hours to reach Kanpur instead of its
scheduled 5 hours. So, we reached at 1:40 am at station and 2:30 am at IIT
Kanpur. It was a hectic but fun-filled journey. It was a nice experience and so
I was excited to share it.
